In late July I started a group on Flickr. The members are mostly from another local Flickr group for off-camera lighting specifically. I started the new group because the other group had grown quite large and attendance at meet-ups was not very consistent. We had to constantly teach the basics to new members which inhibited us from planning big, more complex events. The Nebraska Photographer Consortium has members with varying degree of skill but we all have a passion for photographer and an intense desire to learn and develop our craft. That makes the meets go smoother because we know people will study on their own ahead of time. On September 20th we had our first group meet in downtown Omaha at 1014 Studios.
We had 4 models, a hair stylist, and about 8 photographers. I spent almost 6 hours shooting and we all got a lot of great images. I’m still processing mine but here are the images I’ve finished thus far. More will be coming as I find the time to complete the processing. And, if anyone is interested in exactly what I do when I process then drop me a comment and let me know that you’d like to see a future write-up on it. Our next group meet will be in November.
